A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Laurie spent twenty years in the Regular Army as a logistics officer, and latterly as an IT specialist, serving in the UK, Germany and the Far East, including extensive service with The Brigade of Gurkhas. On leaving the Regular Army he joined a London-based systems consultancy, LBMS Plc, rising to Board level, before setting up his own project management and training company.
Laurie has extensive experience in project and programme management, mainly in the public sector. In addition to managing the implementation of new UK government units, for three years he was Programme Director for the Government of Cyprus Information Systems Strategy, and for many years presented courses in specific management skills for the Airbus community. More recently he helped found a law firm, acting as the part-time Finance and Admin Director. The firm has now grown to be a very busy central London property practice..
Laurie has four children, three of whom have Army careers and one, the sensible one, who is a corporate lawyer.
